Films Outside the Loop Jeanne Chappé

This movie starts out in the desert with the investigation of a wrecked car, a dead cow, two dead people and $900,000 in scattered cash. J.T. Walsh (Sling Blade) plays John Quinn and he is one of the investigators. He is obsessed with solving an armed car robbery during which his partner was killed. There is still over one million dollars that hasn't been recovered. There are someone's foot prints leading out into the desert...dragging something heavy.

Switch scenes...if you were in bed with a guy in a seedy motel room and his wife bursts in with a gun...what would you say? This girlfriend says "Shoot him, for god's sake!" Michelle Forbes (Kalifornia) plays the girlfriend Rinda and Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) plays the wronged wife Hallie. After being lied to by yet another man, Rinda decides to blow town. Hallie hitches a ride with her...both of them leaving the boyfriend/husband behind in the dust. They end up stranded and stuck in the mud where they meet a mysterious hitchhiker (Gil Bellows). He goes by the name of Dodge and closely guards an old suitcase. All police have now issued warnings about picking up hitchhikers. Both Rinda and Hallie are attracted to Dodge. He talks them into going into a canyon where there are incredible hot springs.

Tim Guinee (The Pompatus of Love) plays Bo...Hallie's real creep of a husband. He wants his wife back. After all, she BELONGS to him.

These are fascinating characters and they weave a weird spell on their road trip. Who do you trust and who is lying? Who has the money and who doesn't? There are many jarring twists and turns throughout this movie. And...you get to see Mia Sara naked!

Some of you may not agree...but I loved the end of this movie.
