Jack Frost (1996)

This is for all of you bah humbuggers out there. This is not a Christmas cartoon nor is it the new family movie starring Michael Keaton. If you are as tired of Christmas cartoons, Christmas movies and Christmas specials as I am (especially the Kathy Lee Gifford Christmas THING which sticks to your face) this movie will come as a welcome treat. It is actually showing on Cinemax on Christmas Eve.

This movie is gore galore with tongue in cheek the whole time. Jack Frost (Scott MacDonald) is a convicted serial killer who is about to be put to death. The Feds had been chasing him for years BUT the sheriff of a small town eventually captured him. Sam (Christopher Allport) is the sheriff that Jack Frost really wants to FROST! Of course, Sam has a family. Got the picture?

There is some confusion about how Jack Frost escapes from death row and gets hit by genetic spew but don't let this spoil your enjoyment of this dark Christmas movie.

Do NOT eat oatmeal prepared with antifreeze, no matter how cold you are.

In the words of Jack Frost and Frank Zappa...just don't eat the yellow snow.

A very Merry dark Christmas to all of you!

Runtime: 1:29

This film is available on DVD, VHS, cable or satellite.

This column is dedicated to those films that most of the world missed!
